Polyimide, PI

CSI CHEMICAL applications of PI

PI stands for Polyimide. (POLYIMIDE;PI)

  • Polyimide (abbreviated PI) is a polymer of imide monomers.

  • Polyamides, the best high-performance insulating material in the world, after 50 years of development, have been considered as one of the most important materials for electrical and electronic applications.

  • The appearance of Polyimide may be yellow, black, white, or transparent. Its relative density is 1.39~1.45. It features excellent high and low temperature resistance, excellent insulating properties, good adhesion, excellent radioresistance , and dielectric properties.

  • Especially suitable for being used as a flexible substrate, used in electrical or electronic devices which require excellent thermal resistance, or used as the insulating material for semiconductors.

Key Features of Polyimide (PI)

PI is suitable for being used in an environment with extreme temperatures (from -269 ~ 400℃)

And it also features excellent and stable physical, chemical, electric, and mechanical properties. PI exhibits good thermal stability, excellent radioresistance, and thermal resistance. Its operating temperature is up to 500℃.

It is also considered as a good insulator as its low dielectric constant. Its excellent mechanical properties, tough and tensile coating, and good resistance to acids and solvents ensure superior performance in assembling electronic components.
